The European Commission raised the standard adult Schengen visa fee from €80 to €90 — a 12.5% increase — effective 11 June 2026, applying equally across all 29 Schengen member and associated states. If you submitted your application before that date, you'd have paid the old €80 rate; any application from 11 June 2026 onward is charged €90.
This fee applies to the standard short-stay Type C visa, for trips under 90 days — the visa type almost all Indian tourists, family visitors, and business travellers apply for. The fee is non-refundable, whether your visa is approved, refused, or withdrawn.
Total cost: fee + service charges + insurance
The €90 government fee is only part of what you'll actually spend. Most Schengen countries process Indian applications through a visa application centre — VFS Global, BLS International, or TLScontact — and these centres charge their own separate service fee on top.
