Everything for New Zealand, handled from Chandigarh.

New Zealand revised its Fee Paying Student Visa fee in January 2026, raised weekly work hours to 25 in late 2025, and opens a new Short-Term Graduate Work Visa in November 2026. We build every application — study or visit — to the standard Immigration New Zealand is applying right now, not last year's rules.

New Zealand Visitor Visa — the honest picture

Indian passport holders need a Visitor Visa (or, in specific cases, the faster NZeTA) before travelling to New Zealand for tourism, family visits, or short business trips.

Eligibility

Genuine visitor intent

You must show a genuine reason to visit — tourism, visiting family, or a short-term event — and clear intent to return to India.

Funds

Proof of funds

At least NZD $1,000 per month of stay (or NZD $400/month if accommodation is prepaid), on top of return travel funds.

Duration

Stay limits

Up to 6 months on a multiple-entry visa or up to 9 months on a single-entry visa, capped at 9 months in any 18-month period.

Work

No work allowed

A Visitor Visa does not permit employment in New Zealand. You can study for up to 3 months on this visa before needing a Student Visa.

Fast-track option

NZeTA exception

Some Indian passport holders already holding a valid US, UK, or Canada visa may qualify for the faster NZeTA instead of a full Visitor Visa — we confirm eligibility during your consultation.

Documents

Core paperwork

Valid passport (3+ months validity beyond departure), bank statements, travel itinerary, and evidence of ties to India.

Note: approval rates and processing times shift with application volume and season. We give you an honest, current picture for your specific profile rather than a generic promise.

Common questions about New Zealand visas

How much does the New Zealand student visa cost in 2026? +

The Fee Paying Student Visa application fee is NZD $850, revised from January 2026, plus the standard International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) of NZD $100 — non-refundable even if declined.

How much does a New Zealand visitor visa cost? +

NZD $441 plus the NZD $100 IVL. Some Indian applicants who already hold a valid US, UK, or Canada visa may instead qualify for the cheaper, faster NZeTA — we check this during your consultation.

Yes — up to 25 hours per week during term time, increased from 20 hours from 3 November 2025, with no limit during scheduled course breaks.

Can I bring my family on a student visa? +

Your partner can apply for a work visa only if you're studying a Level 9–10 qualification or a Green-List-eligible Level 7–8 course. Children need their own Dependent Child Student Visa.

What happens after I graduate? +

Level 7+ graduates are generally eligible for a Post Study Work Visa of up to three years. From 16 November 2026, a new Short-Term Graduate Work Visa also offers six months of open work rights to graduates who don't qualify for the standard route.
